This research is motivated by the weakening of humanitarian values in modern society, marked by the rise of intolerance, social conflict, and moral degradation. In this context, the Qur’an, as a universal source of Islamic teaching, offers profound insights into human dignity through the values of justice (al-‘adl) and compassion (ar-rahmah). The purpose of this study is to analyze the Qur’anic perspective on human dignity by focusing on the contents of Surah Al-Hujurat, which encompasses the principles of social justice, brotherhood, and respect for diversity. This research employs a qualitative approach using the thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) method, examining the verses in Surah Al-Hujurat through classical and contemporary exegeses such as Tafsir Ibn Kathir, al-Qurthubi, Fi Zhilal al-Qur’an, and Tafsir al-Misbah. The findings reveal that the Qur’an positions human dignity as a sacred and universal value, where justice serves as the pillar of social balance and compassion acts as the bond of humanitarian harmony. Surah Al-Hujurat emphasizes the importance of building a civilized, just, and compassionate society, thereby reaffirming that the Qur’anic message remains profoundly relevant in addressing contemporary humanitarian challenges.
